Fenaka Corporation has successfully completed the installation of smart meters in the households of Dh. Kudahuvadhoo as part of the Fenaka Smart Meter Project. The official launch of the service took place on Tuesday.
The project, which leverages technological advancements to enhance customer convenience, marks a significant step forward for the utility provider. The launch event, held in Kudahuvadhoo on Tuesday evening, was graced by Minister of Climate Change, Environment and Energy Thoriq Ibrahim.
As part of the initiative, Fenaka also introduced a mobile app that allows customers to monitor their daily electricity usage directly from their smartphones. The new smart meters, which are fully automated, will replace the previously used analogue and digital meters, offering improved efficiency and accuracy.
The smart meters deployed in this project are manufactured by China’s Dongfeng. Fenaka is currently expanding the installation of smart meters to other islands within Dh. Atoll, as well as HDh. Atoll, B. Atoll, M. Atoll, F. Atoll, Th. Atoll, and Fuvahmulah City.
Over the next year, Fenaka plans to extend the smart meter rollout to all islands where it provides utility services, aiming for a comprehensive upgrade across its network.
