President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih inaugurated North Huvadhu Atoll Maamendhoo New Powerhouse and office building on Saturday, 24th December 2022.
At a ceremony held at the island, His Excellency President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih shut down the 22-year-old powerhouse in the island, with the establishment of new Powerhouse.
The new powerhouse is situated away from the main settlement of the island, and measures 206 square meters in area.
With a maximum load of 338 KW recorded this year in Maamendhoo, the new powerhouse has been designed with a capacity of 2.6 MW to install three, 600 kilowatts class generators and an 800 kilowatts generator.
The administrative block within the premises measure 158.2 square meters, with the capacity to accommodate a maximum of 30 employees.
These New powerhouses built across islands under Fenaka will have state-of-the-art office buildings and an upgraded fuel storage network.
