The Ministry of Environment (MoE) plays a major role in the establishment of sewerage networks in the islands. The sewerage systems under Fenaka have been funded by the MoE and commissioned to Fenaka for operations.

Under the government pledge to establish sewerage systems in all the inhabited islands of the Maldives, the MoE is currently executing multiple sewerage establishment projects. As such, the design and build of sewerage systems two islands are currently carried out by Fenaka.
